Travels
- United States (obviously most of my life) The ones colored in pink are the states I've been to.
- Panama (1998-1999) I lived here with my family for about a year and a half when I was very young. I remember it as a beautiful place with delicious food.
- Mexico (April 2010) We went here and various other Caribbean islands during our cruise when I was a senior in high school. It was wonderful. Some of the most beautiful places I have been.
- Honduras (January 2014) I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Honduras with a group from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. We traveled with a pharmacist and two medical personnel in order to provide minimal healthcare to people in remote areas. We also worked on a construction product in the village in which we stayed for ten days.
- Guatemala (January 2014) This probably doesn't count, but we walked to Guatemala from Honduras one afternoon. I hope to go back to Guatemala officially one day.
- Haiti (January 2015) The next year in seminary, we were able to travel to Haiti. It is such a beautiful and tragic country with some of the most joyful people I have ever met. We helped work on a Methodist church in a remote village in the beautiful mountains.
- Cuba (July 2015) This past summer I had the insane opportunity to travel to Cuba. We stayed with the Methodist Church in Cuba and were able to do some construction work at the seminary housing for visiting professors.
- Malaysia (August 2015) This year, Daniel and I will be exploring the gorgeousness of Southeast Asia. Our first stop is Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. We have so enjoyed getting to know people here at various churches and learning a new way of life.
- Bangkok, Thailand (November 2015) We had the incredible opportunity to spend a few days in Bangkok, Thailand, exploring beautiful temples and waterways. We had a delightful time. We can't wait to see where the rest of this year leads us!
- Cambodia (January 2016) We were delighted to have my parents visit us in Malaysia for almost three weeks. To take full advantage of their time in SE Asia, we took a trip up to Siem Reap, Cambodia to explore the temples at Angkor Wat. It was absolutely incredible. We highly recommend it for anyone who loves architecture, history, or 50 cent beer!
- Indonesia (January 2016) We also took my parents to Bali, Indonesia! We needed a little vacation after Christmas, so we decided Bali might be nice. It was gorgeous and we had a great time relaxing in our private villa and on the beach.
- Singapore (February-March 2016) We got to spend 3 weeks in Singapore in February and March. It's just a little island city-state, but there is so much to do here! We have been out adventuring every day! Along with being touristy, we have have also been able to visit various churches and see their ministry more closely. It was wonderful.
- Phuket, Thailand (June 2016) We spent just four days in Thailand again for Daniel's birthday. It was rainy season in June, but they desperately needed the rain after a terrible drought, so we didn't mind the thunderstorms! We had a wonderful time sitting by the pool and walking along the beach near our resort. We also spent some time celebrating Daniel's birthday with some yummy food and hanging out with elephants!
- Honduras (January 2017) We spent ten days in different places in Honduras. We spent a few days in Tegucigalpa, then drove (forever and ever) toward Copan. We stayed in a small village outside of Copan where we helped pour concrete and hung out with kids. It was pretty incredible to go back to this place so close to my heart with Daniel. I can't wait until we go again!
